Why continue heating your home with oil?

Heating oil, better known as “oil heating,” is a robust option and well suited to withstand Quebec winters. This is precisely why so many families have chosen this type of fuel derived from crude oil.

Light heating oil shares several characteristics with diesel, but it is specifically formulated for residential heating. It contains additives that optimize performance and ensure clean, efficient combustion. Lighter and more refined than other types of heating oil, it delivers excellent energy efficiency for your heating system.

Heating Oil #1 or #2: what’s the difference?

Heating Oil #1, also known as light heating oil, is more refined and more fluid than Heating Oil #2. Its composition allows it to resist freezing, making it an excellent choice for outdoor installations or regions with harsh winters. Thanks to its lighter nature, it burns more cleanly, reducing deposits in heating equipment and extending its lifespan. It is particularly recommended for tanks exposed to cold or systems requiring a more responsive fuel.
Heating Oil #2 is the most commonly used type for residential heating. It is denser and offers slower combustion, making it an economical and efficient option for heating large spaces. Less refined than Heating Oil #1, it is perfectly suited for tanks installed indoors or protected from freezing. Its excellent heat output makes it a reliable fuel for maintaining consistent warmth throughout the winter.
